Pastor Elms & Family

Rev. Jonathan Paul Elms was born the eighteenth day of October, 1974 in San Bernardino, California to Wendell and Linda Elms.  Through his childhood years, the Elms family evangelized, began a Home Missions work in North Carolina, pastored First United Pentecostal Church in Comanche, Texas, then moved in 1985 to Wichita Falls, Texas where his father pastored Life Tabernacle for 23 years. He now serves as the District Secretary of the Texas District UPCI.

At the age of fifteen Pastor Elms felt God calling him into the ministry.  After graduating high school in 1993, he attended Christian Life College in Stockton, California for three years.  His fourth year of Bible School was spent attending Texas Bible College where he graduated in 1997.

On July 25, 1997 he married Brenda Jean Alomar at The Rock Church where Rev. Nathaniel Wilson pastored her family for many years.  She was born the first of August, 1978 to Ron and Debbie Alomar.  Following their wedding, Pastor Elms assumed the position of Assistant Pastor under Rev. Terry Pugh at First United Pentecostal Church in Odessa, Texas.  After serving there for a year and a half, God called the Elms’ to serve under his father in Wichita Falls.

In March of 2000 Pastor Elms answered the call to pastor First United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, Texas, where he pastored for seven wonderful years.

Pastor Elms has been involved in the Texas District for many years as a musician, has assisted in youth camp security, was Budget Superintendent for Church-In-A-Day, and served as the Section One director in the Home Missions department for four years.

On April 4, 2007, by a large majority, Bro. Elms was elected Pastor of The Apostolic Church and assumed the position on April 15, 2007.  The vision for revival, growth, and blessing will continue under his leadership.
