Rev.
Jonathan Paul Elms was born the eighteenth day of October,
1974 in San Bernardino, California to Wendell and Linda
Elms. Through his childhood years, the Elms family
evangelized, began a Home Missions work in North Carolina, pastored First United Pentecostal Church in Comanche, Texas,
then moved in 1985 to Wichita Falls, Texas where his father
remains the pastor of
Life Tabernacle.
At the age of fifteen Pastor Elms felt God
calling him into the ministry. After graduating high school
in 1993, he attended Christian Life College in Stockton,
California for three years. His fourth year of Bible School
was spent attending Texas Bible College where he graduated
in 1997.
On July 25, 1997 he married Brenda Jean Alomar at
The Rock Church where Rev. Nathaniel Wilson pastored her
family for many years. She was born the first of August,
1978 to Ron and Debbie Alomar. Following their wedding,
Pastor Elms assumed the position of Assistant Pastor under
Rev. Terry Pugh at First United Pentecostal Church in
Odessa, Texas. After serving there for a year and a half,
God called the Elms’ to serve under his father in Wichita
Falls.
In March of 2000 Pastor Elms answered the call to
pastor First United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, Texas,
where he pastored for seven wonderful years.
Pastor Elms has been involved in the Texas
District for many years as a musician, has assisted in youth
camp security, was Budget Superintendent for
Church-In-A-Day, and served as the Section One director in
the Home Missions department for four years.
On April 4, 2007, by a large majority, Bro. Elms
was elected Pastor of The Apostolic Church and assumed the
position on April 15, 2007. The vision for revival, growth,
and blessing will continue under his leadership. |
